Today is a sad day for the whole Simutrans community. Today we’ve known that an important member is not already among us. With great dismay, we received news that our buddy Dirk Burkholz, just turned 26 years old, died suddenly some days ago. His heart just stopped beating.
He founded the german forum in 2004 which was the oldest simutrans forum without break. He also administrate the wikis and help the web team, too. Therefore he’d left a big gap, which we are not even sure how to mend. What most people did not know is that he had a severe disability but that doesn’t stop him from working as an active volunteer in various volunteer organizations.
The Simutrans family wants to give theirs condolences to his family and friends. We’ll miss you, rest in peace Dirk.

There is people who is inspiring for the ones that read about his lifes, that every one year he lives is equal to 5 of other persons, and after read this I think that maybe Dirk is even better. Rest in peace.
