Rest in peace Dirk

Today is a sad day for the whole Simutrans community. Today we’ve known that an important member is not already among us. With great dismay, we received news that our buddy Dirk Burkholz, just turned 26 years old, died suddenly some days ago. His heart just stopped beating.

pak.german moves to experimental

The pak.german development team has made an important announcement. The pakset won’t support the standard version of Simutrans anymore, at least by the pakset mantainers, but it will support Simutrans experimental from v1.1.2011. The support of this pakset for Simutrans 102.2.2 is not guaranteed.

On the other hand, if you’re willing to mantain a version for Simutrans standard, please contact with Frank and the rest of pakset mantainers to get the sources.

May’s Edition of Simutrans Monthly Screenshot Contest

Here we are again with the May’s edition of SMSC. The subject of this month is downtowns (skyscrapers, high buildings, old town squares, etc….)

Everybody can participate, with only one screenshot of 800 x 600 pixels, in jpg or png formats. You can use any pakset, and the deadline is May 15th. The voting begins on May 16th.

The prize will be a mention of your nickname in the Simutrans Hall of Fame, praises from the whole community and one post including your picture at blog and simutrans.com.

pak.german 102.2.2 released!

There’s a new version of pak.german for the new simutrans 102.2.2.

This release includes changes in prices and running costs, as well as some new buses and bus stops, besides many other corrections (alignments, old objects removed, etc..)

pak96.comic has a new homepage

Due to some some technical problems with the old homepage, Sojo, the pak96.comic manager, has announced that the new pak96.comic website has moved to 96comic.simutrans.com and now it’s also available in english.

The german site will be out of service by now.

pak128.german is still alive!

After solving all problems with the copyrights, the pak128.german development team has released a new demo version. It’s playable but It has only a few objects and no timeline support. The goal of this demo is to re-awake the interest on the pakset, attract new contributors and fix bugs.

The pakset needs new artists and contributors, thus If you want to join the project, put in contact with michelstadt or Frank through the Simutrans International Forum or the Simutrans German Forum.
